Grand Cru N°1

From Mailly Champagne

This champagne has rather intense, golden yellow color. Effervescence with an abundance of fine bubbles developing in a creamy foam.

The nose reveals initial powerful enticing aromas of fluffy pastry and quince jelly notes. It then opens up with the floral nuances of peony.

In the mouth, a balanced and velvery texture with hazelnut, cashew and dried fruits. Finally, refreshing and deep notes of candied citrus and flowers arise.

Champagne Lucien Roguet.

The journey began in the late 19th century when Louis Roguet owned vineyards exclusively dedicated to supplying grapes to merchants. His son Lucien, joining him in the vineyards, eventually established "Lucien Roguet" champagne. Despite disruptions during World War II, Lucien's son Pol meticulously rebuilt the vineyard, introducing "Pol Roguet" champagne to a loyal clientele. In a nod to familial roots, the brand reverted to its original "Lucien Roguet" name. Today, Pol's grandson Samuel upholds the family legacy, meticulously crafting high-quality champagne from their 7-hectare vineyard. With an annual production of 45,000 to 50,000 bottles, the Roguet family maintains its esteemed reputation through unwavering dedication and refined communication strategies.

Their vineyard spans approximately 7 hectares, exclusively situated within the Mailly-Champagne terroir, subdivided into approximately 25 parcels. Positioned on elevated terrain south of Reims, their village and terroir hold the esteemed Grand Cru classification, a distinction given only to 17 municipalities within Champagne. This privileged designation ensures optimal conditions for vine cultivation, with northeast-facing slopes of the Montagne de Reims providing ample sunlight and a chalky soil composition ideal for Champagne grape varieties.

They meticulously cultivate the three authorized Grand Cru grape varieties—Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay—enriching their reserve with a blend of black and white grapes. Throughout the year, their dedicated team implements meticulous vineyard management practices, adhering to sustainable viticulture principles to ensure the highest quality harvest.

Their traditional, entirely manual harvesting process involves careful selection of each cluster, parcel by parcel, across the entire vineyard. Their seasoned teams, provided with sustenance and accommodations, work at a deliberate pace, prioritizing quality over quantity.

Champagne Paul Sugot

A family Champagne house for five generations, Maison Paul Sugot extends a warm welcome to Avize, in the Côte des Blancs, to present the culmination of tradition, passion, and excellence. As grower-producers, they diligently tend to their vineyards throughout the year to yield the precious Chardonnay grapes, the noble varietal from which their wines are crafted. These grapes, harvested at the end of summer, will allow them to produce the juice that will be meticulously worked on for years before offering their Champagnes to discerning palates. Maison Paul Sugot prides itself on producing only a limited quantity of bottles each year, ensuring that the utmost attention is given to each step of the Champagne production process. From vine to bottle, every detail is carefully managed to uphold their commitment to quality and excellence.
